Journey Behind the Falls


The sound is like thunder; the sight is awe-inspiring! Take a journey deep below and behind the heart of Niagara, and stand in the mist where the mighty Horseshoe Falls tumbles from 13 storeys above! At Journey Behind the Falls, you'll experience the awesome spectacle of one-fifth of the world's fresh water crashing down to the basin below. During summer daylight hours, over 2800 cubic meters of water thunders over the brink every second, traveling 65 kilometers per hour.



You'll find Journey Behind the Falls at the brink of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, in the Table Rock Welcome Center. Take an elevator down 45 meters (150 ft.) through bedrock to tunnels leading to the Cataract Portal and Great Falls Portal, one-third of the way behind the massive sheet of water. Walk on to the Upper and Lower Observation Decks at the very foot of the Falls. In the spring and summer months, you'll receive a free souvenir biodegradable rain poncho as protection from the mist of the Falls.




IMAX Theatre


The Niagara Falls IMAX Experience brings true stories that have been talked about for generations to life on a screen over six stories high. With 12,000 watts of floor shaking digital surround sound. Whether it's going over Niagara Falls, scaling the top of Mount Everest or speeding around the Indy track at 230 miles per hour, IMAX films are guaranteed to take you places you've never been before. Be sure to watch the amazing: Niagara Miracles, Myths and Magic. With over 45 minutes you will witness Niagara Falls' incredible stories that would take a lifetime to experience! The Daredevil Exhibit, located within the Theatre, features the world's largest collection of original daredevil barrels that have challenged the mighty falls. Greg Frewin Theatre

Bird Kingdom


Bird Kingdom is located in the tourist district of Niagara Falls. Previously the home of the Niagara Falls Museum, the building was re-opened as a free flying aviary in May 2003. It is now one of the largest indoor aviaries in the world, encompassing approximately 45,000 square feet (4200 m2), and it houses over 300 individual birds, the majority of which come from Australia, South America, and Africa. It also houses mammals, insects, and reptiles, and even an amphibian-the dyeing poison frog. Bird Kingdom has been voted Niagara Falls Attraction of the Year four times.




Botanical Gardens


Niagara Parks' Botanical Gardens is located on the scenic Niagara Parkway and the Great Gorge, just a 10 minute drive north of the Niagara Falls. This beautiful garden setting is home to the Butterfly Conservatory and serves as the unique outdoor classroom for students attending the Niagara Parks School of Horticulture. Established in 1936, you'll enjoy 40 hectares (99 acres) of beautifully maintained gardens. Enjoy perennials, rhododendrons, azaleas, formal parterre garden, shade, herb and vegetable plantings, as well as our world-famous rose garden featuring over 2400 roses.






Butterfly Conservatory


This magical attraction features over 2000 colorful tropical butterflies floating freely among lush, exotic blossoms and greenery. Paths wind through the rainforest setting, past a pond and waterfall and the Emergence window, where butterflies leave their pupae and prepare to take their first flight! The self-guided walking tour of the Butterfly Conservatory begins with a short, informative video presentation that is close captioned for the hearing impaired. The Butterfly Conservatory is located on the grounds of the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens, 10 minutes north of the Falls. Explore 180 meters of pathways winding through a lush, tropical environment.




Horseplay Niagara
